Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (sponsor)

I am pleased to welcome back IIR as a Drug Channels sponsor for the 15th Annual Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP) Summit. The event will be held September 15-17 in Chicago.

IIR is offering a special 25% discount for Drug Channels readers. Just mention VIP code XP1558DRUGCH when registering. Although 23.1% would have been a more appropriate (and amusing) discount, I thank IIR for one-upping the government on behalf of my readers.

From what I see, the MDRP will be a very valuable and timely event. The issues raised by this event are growing in importance as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act gets implemented. The Obama Administration is rolling out a new enforcement strategy under the False Claims Act that could even make individual executives responsible. (See Crackdown on the C-Suite from June’s Pharmaceutical Executive.) My friends over at CIS have pointed out the complex implications of the new Average Manufacturer Price (AMP) on Medicaid rebates.

The keynote speaker is Mark McClellan, former Administrator of CMS. The Agenda also features executives from many leading pharma companies and service providers.

The operational, financial, and legal impact of healthcare reform will significantly increase your compliance risk due to rapidly evolving regulations and audit requests. The 15th Annual Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP) Summit will help you anticipate and prepare for the changes ahead.

Healthcare reform legislation affects manufacturer’s bottom line immediately so how can pharmaceutical companies brace for the financial, operational and compliance risks right now?

Can you afford the cost of not attending MDRP?

  • Reduce the Financial Impact: One of the top 3 pharma companies has estimated that the impact from healthcare reform in 2010 alone will be $400-500 million in sales reduction.
  • Prepare for the New Rebates: What does the increase of base Medicaid rebates from 15.1% to 23.1% do to your bottom line? Have you changed your processes and quantified the financial impact for 2010 and beyond?
  • Accrue for the 50% Cost Cut for Medicare seniors in the donut hole – Do you know how to accrue for the financial and operational impact of this provision?
  • Avoid Fines and Penalties with additional disclosure and reporting requirements - Are you sure you are compliant? There were over Six Billion Dollars in industry fines from DRA, MMA and Tricare so far...How much will the addition of Medicaid, Medicare, and PHS 340B Reform cost you?
IIR is extending a 25% discount off the standard registration price at MDRP on behalf of Drug readers, when you mention VIP code XP1558DRUGCH. That’s over $400 in savings!
