Nor is dis-incentivizing the use of more affordable generic drugs! Cut the brand name manufacturer's prices. That is the true source of the escalating cost of drug programs. A price increase (often much higher than inflation) by the manufacturers at will, often instantly wipes out savings of a reduction to pharmacy's reimbursent which is often oppressive to the pharmacy. Pharmacy's reimbursement over and above the product cost is such a small percentage of the total program cost that cutting pharmacist reimbursement seems counterproductive and counterintuitive.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/28450497/6304984942459207958/comments/default/9137722988094416381'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/28450497/6304984942459207958/comments/default/9137722988094416381'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.drugchannels.net/2007/07/heretical-questions-about-amp-war.html?showComment=1185729780000#c9137722988094416381' title=''/><author><name>Anonymous</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img1.blogblog.com/img/blank.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.drugchannels.net/2007/07/heretical-questions-about-amp-war.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28450497.post-6304984942459207958' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/28450497/posts/default/6304984942459207958' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1699603471'/></entry></feed>
